Default UPDATE

First, thanks to everybody who responded to my origianl post. It meant a lot to me to recieve your support.

Here is an update. I recieved an email from Jon at Pica:

The two other items were put inside the Cessna box itself. The model cost
$309.95 less 25% discount of $77.49 for a net total of $232.46 for the kit.
The rest of the charges was for the Cockpit Kit, shipping and Muffler.

You can return the model and other accessories to our address below. The RMA
number is JT425. There is a restocking fee of 15% for all returns. We also do
not refund shipping.

I was not aware that Hobby Barn has their sight linked to our ordering
system. I will check into that because I do not feel that is ethical nor is
it legal. We have no affiliation with them at all.

Regards,

Jon Tanger

After a personal call to Jon, he said he was a liitle more than angry at Hobby Barn for linking to them the way they did. He gave me a %25 discount, and said if I wanted to return it, he would lower the restocking fee from 15% to 7%. Rock on Pica!

I'm going to call Hobby Barn and tell them about my displeasure from this transaction. Of course, I fully expect them to take no responsibility, but, now that Pica knows about this as well, that may change...who knows?

Jon gave me permission to open the box, and decide if I really want to keep it. If I do, I do. If I decide to send it back, I'm looking at the origianl shipping cost, the shipping cost back to Pica, and a 7% restock fee. Around $70. Decisions, decisions.

Thanks again, guys. I'll let ya'll know what Hobby Barn is going to do.

Default Wrong plane 4 birthday

Hey guys,

About the wife thing. I'm lucky, mine has blond hair. She bought me the GWS Tigermoth for Christmas, as per my instructions given to the local hobby shop. If I would have built the P-51, showed it to her and said "thanks for the gift, I love it". She would say "that's nice, looks great, I must be loosing my mind, the picture on the box was yellow, now go fly, I love you".

Best thing that ever happened to me.

Deadeye,

Did you keep the kit or go with the top flight?

This thread had me laughing with the wife quotes! Made me think of one George Carlin had, " 'I am.' is the shortest sentence in the human language. Could it be that 'I do.' is the longest sentence?"

Glad to hear your wife is OK with it. I returned a watch my wife got me for christmas one time (it was totally NOT like what I'd told her I wanted), and she still brings it up 3 years later!

Jeez, I've read all these posts about you guys and the horror stories with your wives. I thank the Good Lord that my Shannen is as easy going as I am. She's pretty, and a great companion who encourages me with my addiction...err...hobby. I wish you all could have that too.
