Default Balsa USA Phaeton II

I have most of the wood together and have come to the struts that are to be made of 1/8" wire.
Looking for an option on the struts. i don't like the wire struts and would like to fabricate them out of wood or something. Anybody have ideas or done this before?

That aero shaped aluminum tubing fatigues something terrible when connected directly with screws. It must be filled with hardwood or the wire/JB Weld run through it for a long lasting setup.

I made the struts of wire from the kit, not bad, will cover them with a rubber coating that you put on tools. It's just sitting now though, need a motor for it. I have a saito 72 i could put on it but that's on another plane.

The Phaeton will have plenty of power with a Saito 72. A Magnum 52 would fly it fine.

Enjoy
