Default Fixed Gear question

When attaching a fixed gear to the wing where the main gear is strapped to a hardwood grooved block in the wing. Is it neccessary to epoxy the wire gear in to the block and the straps or is it better to just fit the gear into the groove and not use epoxy?

Default Landing Gear Blocks

Use the straps and forget about the epoxy. In the event that it becomes necessary to repair/replace the landing gear blocks in the future, you will have one less headache.
