Hi,

I am a total newb to kit building. Right now I'm building a Great Planes Rapture 40. I am at the point in the palns where it tells me to install the engine and fuel tank. At this time I do not have an engine or tank. Is there any reason that I can't skip this step and move on to finishing off the fuse?

Don't see why not. I wouldn't cover it just yet as you may need to get in to add balance weight.

The placenemt of the throttle servo and control rod will require the engine . . . and tank to work around.

Most kits from GP usually are built around one certain engine and tank. If you are going to use the same engine and tank you'll have no problems moving on now. But if you are planning on using a different engine or tank you might want to hold up until you have them in hand. I say this because there may be modifications to the fuselage, firewall, or cowl to accommodate the different equipment and it's a lot easier to make changes now than it is later on in the build.

If you are at the point where you are installing the firewall, it is a whole lot easier to get the holes drilled for the engine mount before the firewall is glued in.

Me, I never use sequin's when I build my airplanes. They are too sparkly.

What about rhinestones????

Thanks for the advise! I am using the recomended engine so I'm going to keep on building! I have made a few mistakes but have learned a lot in the building process. I'm finding building as much fun as flying.
