Default Mini servos for ailerons

I am building a gp mustang 40 kit and was wondering if anyone has used the mini or park servos for weight savings. The GWS servos I looked at have more torque than the standard airtronic servos I have currently. The GWS park is only .67 oz and has a torque of 58 oz-in. My standard servoes are 1.44 oz and have a torque of 42 oz.-in. I would save half the weight in servos if I used the mini's over the standards but have not found anyone talking about them in these forums. Any comments would be appreaciated.

Thank you
John

I see no issue with that... I use a pair of the Futaba S3110 (.27oz and 22oz of torque) for aileron controls on my HOB Texan.

The Technology in the servos has advanced tremendously, and no one has really noticed...[&o]

Fit them into the wings and go flying!

Thanks for the replies. I was out of town for work the last week so I am just getting to order the servos now. I want to use them in the wing of a p51 mustang 40 kit from GP. I can save 4.75 oz by using the mini servos throughout the plane.
Thanks again.

Just a further question, will the drive train take the strain. While the torque is there, will the smaller gears will be under more stress. Not worth the loss of a plane for the minimal weight loss.
