#1. To find out if the tip is open, when you squeeze it and listen tothe air come out, point it AWAY from your ear. CA gets warm when it sets up in your ear.
#2 In another attempt to unclog a CA tip---blow though it..there's an idea. Hmm, still not sure if it's plugged or not, hey I'll suck thtough it and feel the air on my tongue...Dang, now I CA'd my tongue to my teeth!
#3 after taking a horizontal stab off the building board, I was wicking thin CA into all the joints. When I tried to re-position my hand, I found it was now an integral part of the stab. Darn thing wouldn't separate with acetone, had to cut it off with an Xacto and leave part of my skin on the stab.
Darn good thing we can laugh about this stuff....

I am on my first modern kit my last one cost $9.95 in the late 60s. I have already learned several rules:
1. CA knows instantly when you have made a mistake.
2. "T" pins can jump when your not looking, you find them on the floor.
3. I have not made a mistake but my Exacto has goofed a couple times.
I have posted my trials and tribulations at:
