Has anyone out there ever built a Royal Staggerwing Beech? I am having a problem with the almost non existant plans. Especially when trying to figure out the nose section and retracts.

Good luck! With Royal kits, a lot is left to your imagination...

And you need to have a good imagination.

basically, whichever way you decide to do it is the right way

Royal kits really aren't that bad, as long as you can do without detailed instructions or plans. One of the very nice things about these, and other Japanese, kits is that the parts fit and only fit one way. If something doesn't fit, you did it wrong. I can't offer any specific advice on the Staggerwing kit other than to take your time and try to visualize the plans in 3-D along with the desired result of the model. Once you do that, everything will fall into place.

Take your time the man say's. I started this kit in 1993. Have built a dozen others since including some scratch built and a Long-E-Z. I just can't figure out the front fuselage and gear. Also I think 1/8 inch sheeting is too heavy. It won't bend to meet the formers. I may not finish it in this life time.

If what you have built so far is straight, and the build job is clean, I'll take if off your hands
