US60 kit in late july
Well, looks like the Ultra Sport 60 kit will be available again in late July. I've got one on backorder already, and now have
ample time to consider what motor choice to make. I'm thinking about a .92 -1.00 inverted 4 stroke with retracts. I bet I'm not
the only one excited about this kit coming back.

I hope they produce enough of these to be able to export a few. Fond memories of my SS 40 built 1990, and recently started building an SS60 I bought form E bay last year. Will certainly buy one of each of the re-releases if available here.

I've also got an US 60 on backorder.
This is such a great flying plane, you really can't go wrong. I'll also be looking at the new OS 75 two stroke.
I liked the way the old Ultra Sport handled speed very well, but was also a superb aerobat. Great combination!
Did I mention smoooooth?
Anyone know how to wire a separate battery, for mechanical retracts? So the receiver and servo battery doesn't drain if the retracts hang up? I don't know if it needs it, or not. Just thinking...
I may have to get a 40 as well, can't have too many Ultra Sports around.

RE: US60 kit in late july
For all you guys who are planning to build one of these reissued kits, don't forget about doing the simple modification of adding flaps (Not Flapperons!)
It's very simple to do. Cut just less than 1/3 off the inboard side of the ailerons and add a flap servo between the aileron servo and the TE. Then run a flexible pushrod out to the ailerons.
OR
Place the flap servo where the Aileron servo should go, and build a servo tray in each wing for a two-servo aileron setup
I've done it both ways and either way works great. So it doesn't matter which way you do it, but DO IT!
You won't regret it!
Next week, RCKen will be here and I plan to let him fly mine while I video tape it. I'll post the video when it's done.

I've ordered the US 60, should be here on Wednesday. I should have gotten a 40 also and put it in the closet for a rainy day build.
