Hello Lloyd!
I agree whit you, i think the price for the shipping is way too high!
As i can see there might bee two different ways to do this. The one you described, and another method is to take the plans to a copy/scan store so the can make a PDF file of the plans in 1:1. Then could wee email the PDF, and either print it on a local print shop or project it as you mention.
The photogarpich method will be now problem for me, because i am a professional photographer. Just tell me what you like me to do about the plans!

Morwan,
If you work out a good .pdf plan for Lloyd, it may just work good that way for me too on the Cessna 152.
(ONLY if you want to do that - I leave that up to you)
I built the 152 in 1986 for my flight instructor (full size) to use in the classroom. After that, I built him a Long-EZ scaled after his full size.
It would be fun to build the 152 for ME to fly.

Hello Red_Jeepster!
I will check this out! At least there will bee no problem taking i hi res. pictures of it. I can try to find out about the shipping cost to Romaina, i think it will be not that much sending it to US.

If you have a way to scan them into a full size PDF then email me the file I can use another program to print them out from here. This would save us all postage costs.
Just as a note: I was in Trondheim Norway in 1984 with the US Navy. Amazingly beautiful country!!!

Morwan,
I phoned Kinko's. And, yes indeed they can scan and make PDF's of the plans. For $19.95 per scan + $9.95 to burn to CD. For three sheets, that's $70.
I must be a cheap SOB, cause I just don't see the value of a wing plan as worth $70. Especially when I got an entire Pilot FW-190 kit w/plans in perfect condition for $25 at an estate sale.
So, I'll set up the camera to take pictures. I guess the highest resolution I have is a gif. You want that or a JPG?
I have a very old copy of Adobe acrobat 3.0. I think that will it make PDFs, too. But, it might take me a while to get that working on the old computer in storage.
Think I'll revisit my photography skills first. And making the folded plans flat...
More later...
Cheers,

I have a pic of the entire plan sheet.
Hmm. Won't let me upload the pic it says ....
Request object error 'ASP 0104 : 80004005'
Operation not Allowed
/forum/js/PGDUpload.asp, line 169
What does this mean? File too big? I guess 75K is the largest RCU will take. To keep the resolution, it will have to be a bigger file than that. This one is 536K! We may have to do private email.
I'll send a PM...

I'm sitting on two Pilot Nieuport 28 kits, both NIB.
Well not LITERALLY sitting on them.
I'm getting ready to build one of them, for electric power. Not sure what I will do with the other.

The Pilot Nieuport 28 are really nice looking airplanes. may be you could build one electric and one gas version of it, and start dogfigthing
Or you could sell one of them...So more Pilot lovers could have fun with this nice looking airplane.
To Red_Jeepster, Lloyd
Exchange of email through PM is OK. I think we try to make as good photos as possible of the plans an se how it works. May be others would like plans of these good lokking airplanes?
I think for the format jpg is the best way to photograp the plans, if you dont have a option for raw files on your camera.

So, I sent the plans to you again Morwan, and I copied myself. So, I'm pretty sure my mail system is working okay. Did you find out if your mail service limits attachment sizes?
I'm about to give up. But, I did figure out how to make my camera take higher res pics! Won't do much good if you can't receive them, though.
Cheers,
Lloyd

I have been away from RCU for a while and can't believe I missed this thread......... I love Pilot kits, and after being lost in the world postal system for 6 years, I recently , Finally got my Christen eagle 40 size,... the only kit I have ever wnated since I was a child,...
I also collect pilot plans when I can, and I have some, like the super chipmunk and Pitts special,..I will have to dig them out to take a full inventory.
I am currently putting the Eagle into CAD, so I can get the parts laser cut,...should be a few weeks away. Fiberglass specialties do the cowl and wheel fairings!,...and the great planes extra canopy should do for the dual seat version!
I am also willing to copy and share the plans,...PILOT are the best aircraft around and there should be more of them,..
Morwan,.... would there be a chance I could get a copy of some of your plans????, PM me
Thanks

Hello TomcatDriver!
Great to see more people at RCU that love the Pilot plans. I agree with you, they are the best aircraft around..!
When i started this thread i was hoping that this could bee a Pilot plans exchange
Of course i will exchange my Pilot plans. I will first take some hi-res pictures of them an distribute them to anybody who want them.
