What is the hardest part of a kit to build?
#26
The hardest parts of a kit to build are all the parts not included in the kit! Wheel wells, cockpits, gear doors, details, scale corrections ...

The machanical retracts for the GP P51 .40 mustange. Becuase you gotta beef the heck out of the wing ribs.
Then you gotta make use it has a proper angle during extension.
When you link it to the servo, you gotta make sure nothing rubs.
But you gotta put half of the gear cover on it so it looks half decent when it's sitting on the ground
It's going to be a brick , i just know it.lol
The wing's flaring so it looks good and trying to cover around that inside curve.
Mono coat and puddy don't stick so good.lol
Buliding up airleons for the .60 GP 300extra. I hate doing that.

Sanding. More specifically, shaping.
It takes forever. It's hard work. If I make a mistake, there is usually a hole that needs to be filled or repaired and then sanded again. Replacing sandpaper is a beating.
However, it is nice sliding my hand across a nicely sanded fuselage.

SNEAKING IT IN THE HOUSE
IT'S ALWAYS DIFFICULT FOR ME, SPECIALLY WHEN SHE STARTED TO TAKE INVENTORY CONTROL.

I would say shaping a block into something nice, especially when you have to make two that are matching, like wing tips [&:]. It's easy to get them to look nice, but it's HARD to get them to look the same!

In my opinion covering. Everything is easy until you make a boo boo then it gets hard[:@]. An old man told me once the difference between an expert and a novice is all in the ability to fix mistakes seamlessly. This applies to in anything you do.....He was right!
Good luck and happy building

What is the hardest part of a kit to build? I take the question to be asking which part of the airplane is the hardest to build. I find wings and tail feathers easy, so that leaves the fuse. The fuse (to me) is the most interesting part; but, can be difficult to get built straight. When I get one done that I feel is exceptionally straight and well built, I feel I have really accomplished something. Building four wing panels for a biplane is tedious. It's easy and goes fairly fast, but, can get boring.

Mode, I never found building the bipes extra wings too bad but setting up the incidence is always A time killer plus the cabanes and N-struts. Again, I find the set up as the hardest part. I like working with the wood.
All else is painfull!!!

The hardest part is dealing with mislabelled, poor fitting parts, design/instruction faults/misinformation that the kitters don.\'t seem to care about doiong it right in the first place or making the necessary corrections.

The hardest part-- it begins when you glue the fist two pieces of a kit together and never really ends
Really depends on the day, some days it all seems do able,, on others trying to glue two pieces of Balsa together seems impossible.. Randy
