Default Solartex question

I'm trying to attach a contrasting color of solartex over the main color of solartex and I'm not having much luck getting the top color to stick to the bottom color. I've tried ironing it on and I've tried the windex trick and I can't get it to adhere very well.
Has anyone been succsessful doing it? and if so, care to share some tips?
Thanks
Jeff

RCFlyerNYC:

Best way I've found is not using Solartex.

But since you are committed to it, (or you have wasted a lot of time and money) the best way I have found is a small needle on a syringe, and CAREFULLY run CA around the edges.

Same method works well for any covering material I've used.

Hope this helps.

Bill.

Solartex really doesn't work well as trim, mainly because of the texture. But it does paint well. I'd paint the trim colours on rather than trying to stick tex on tex.

Default Solartex Trim

A flying buddy of mine, who is also an expert builder, told me that any low heat covering material, (Ultracote, Towerkote, Etc.), will work well to trim Solartex.

I have never tried it, but it might be worth a shot.. "Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained", as they say. Just a thought. Good Luck!

I am using solartex for my Pup and am using Century 21st Fabric for the roundels and markings . So far the Century 21St is working real well.
