Where can Ultracote be purchased at non-retail prices? There are discounts on kits/radio/engines, but never any on covering materials. Once in a while HobbyPeople has Monokote on sale, but I have yet to see any ultracote for less than $12.99. I'm looking for some transparent or the lite variation.
Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

National hobby (they advertise in RCM) I think sells then around 10.99 but 6 rolls are min. These stuff retails as mush as 18.99 and up . If you can get them at 10.00 bucks a roll you have done good. I suggest to talk to your LHS and see if they would special order them for you at the price you want. How many rolls are you talking about ?

Tower hobby distributes/pushes Monocoat which I believe is an inferior product comparing to Ultracoat. I can not verify this but hobby store can not carry both, or at least that is how it appears to me.
I have always mail ordered mine since is very hard to find where I am and if a store carries it they want full retail (18.99/roll). Utracoat was a product by Goldberg but now it is purchased by Hanger 9 and is distributed through Horizon hobbies.

Try Oracover, every roll of ultracote I have ever used has had Oracover printed on the backing paper. I am going to use it on my next plane and find out just what the deal is.

My LHS has all kinds of covering. There is nothing that says a hobby store has to only carry one type of product.
You should try to support your LHS.$11-13 is a fair price too. Some colors are more. The carbon fiber, which only comes in 3' sections, is closer to $18!

Brian l like and do support my LHS , but if they don't carry the product I want then what am I suppose to do, getting ripped off just to support them. There seems to be a competition between Horizon Hobby and Tower through promotions and discount to their dealers. Every LHS in my area has pretty elaborate Monocoat display with every color under the rainbow but no Ultracoat. I think it is like Pepsi or and Coke where if a store carry both will get punished.

Nope, the hobby shops in my area carry both. My favorite shop has full displays (on racks) of both Ultracote and monokote.
