Hello, im about to build a balsa kit I recieved maby 10 years ago. The kit is all wood made by IM products inc. I have the plans but not the instructions I have built a couple of planes in the past so i have the basics down but in sure im going to need placement instructions for servos and such. The plans say japan designed by I. Matsui I have been looking all over the net with no luck so far. I have found other laser 200 planes but they all seem to have foam wings and tails. Anyway hope you can help maby direct me to some were or someone who can help. Thank you Charlie

You can download the instructions for most Great Planes brand kits. Download one and use it as a guide to build your plane.

The IM kits designed by Matsui were generally pattern kits, excellent designs and good kits, but they did not come with instructions, similar to the practice of the great Japanese MK kits. Close study of the plans, side view, top view, etc. is necessary, but a fine airplane can be completed. Good luck with it!

I do have another question I have a new k&b 61 engine im wondering do you think I can use it instead of a 45?? or will i just flat out over power it.Thanks

Hi Clair, This is the laser 200-45 kit the box says .45 but looking at the plans it might fit with a little massaging... and it uses a 4 chanel radio which i do have an airtronics but I need to get two more servos. Thanks Charlie

There's rarely such a thing as "too much power"
You do not need to run it wide open all the time, or even much of the time.
One thing to look out for is weight: is your bigger engine much heavier than what the plane was designed for?

I'm not familiar with that particular kit, but I imagine you could use the K&B 61 ok. It is a fairly light 61 and somewhat compact so I think you can make it work ok. It won't go a lot faster than a good 45 but should have more vertical. Good luck!

Did you ever finish the Laser?
I happened to find a NIB Laser 200-45 kit by IM and I just couldn't resist to purchase it. To say that I am impressed by the quality of the kit is an understatement. It is simply superb.
I will savour the build. The wood quality is excellent and all the formers look like they have been cut by laser, but laser cutters were not available at the time when the kit was manufactured.
If anyone has any information about the model and its flying qualities I am much obliged. I am enclosing a couple of pictures of my kit.
