I broke the tail off my Explorer 2M sailplane, both the tail and the horizontal stab. I was going to glue it back on the fracture line with CA but I wonder if I should use 30 minute epoxy instead. I'm worried about the weight that far back. Any ideas?

You can use medium ca to glue it ,if it is a clean break. thin ply or balsa can be used for a back up the med. CA will bleed through and bond

Just a hint but if you quickly wipe off excess CA then lightly sand you can fill any small places that are not bridged with the CA before it dry's. If needed you can apply CA again and repeat the proccess. Does not take as long to refinish after you get it repaired.

I have never had one break where I repaired it and does not add all the weight that epoxy does.
The bad thing is sand paper does not last long
have a good'n

I used some gap filling CA and glued the tail back on. Then did several additional coats being careful to wipe of the excess and it worked. After several launches the tail is still there. This CA stuff is pretty strong.

It seems that every one overglues every thing when you just have to repair the break
Some glue's just add weight when all you need is a bond. and just because you have put a lot of backing on the break does not mean it is strong it is how you repair it .
