I have an opportunity to buy this kit.
Does anybody have any experience with this kit or manufacturer?
Any idea when this would have been made?
Some hint as to what I should pay for it?
Your help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Rick

Is it the one designed for two .10's? If it is, I built one several years ago. It was a real nice kit to build, but was way underpowered with .10's, took the whole (grass) runway just to lift off. It really came alive when I switched to .15's. The tapered wing made it kind of prone to snap rolls if you pulled too hard on the elevator but it was a lot of fun to fly as long as you kept the speed up. I never experienced an engine out in the air, but it was unsteerable on the ground with only one engine, so be sure your powerplants are reliable!
Also, my plans and instructions were written in that charming but peculiar brand of Japanese English......led to some smiles and head scratching, lol!

Thanks! That is the one. I'm just getting into kit building, done some ARFs and repairs, and saw that one on ebay. May not be a good choice for a beginner?
Great to hear from a fellow Buckeye in a town I remember- born in Mt. Vernon and left in '63.
Thanks,
Rick

I could be wrong, but I think this is a copy of the Ace Shrike Comm.. More of a collectors item, and may be pricy. The Ace is RCM plan# 640 @ $6. Quantum sells the Ace foam cores for $6.99. You need one straight and one tapered. Or you can buy the plans and cores from McClain wing cores on E-Bay for even less when he puts them up for auction. Put two "Big Migs" on her and tell everyone to stand back.
