I would like to build a Top Flite AT6 Texan. I know that the kit is no longer in production. But I know that I can get plans and the instruction manual through the Top Flite web site. What is the easiest way to go about this? Does enyone reproduce this kit? Can I get the majority of the part through Top Flite and cobble together a kit? I have been scouring the internet looking for an old kit for sale with no luck. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

There are an option here, I believe that Ziroli carries an AT6, you can buy the plans from him, then there are a bunch of wood lasser cutters that can sell a short kit (Wood parts of the kit that have a particular shape and are needed to assamble the kit), you only have to buy some balsa sticks and sheets to build the plane.

they come up on ebay, quite a bit you just have to keep your eye out for them a few weeks ago there was 2 for sale, the bummer about getting TF plans is that they don't include parts templates that are true to scale.
there are ones in the booklet but they need to be enlarged

The TopFlite AT-6 was a great kit. I have one in the fleet. The Ziroli plans result in a dynamite aircraft but it's much larger - 101" vs 71" for the TopFlite. Hope you have luck in finding one. The old Midwest kit at 80" (also discontinued) also shows up once in a while.
I believe Robart still carries the retracts for the TopFlite.

My brother has a partial TF Texan kit that he may be willing to part with for cheap. The wing was framed up by another builder and was then scrapped but I think everything else is still in the box. If you can scratch build a wing or get a wing kit this may get you started. Let me know if you're interested and I'll speak with my brother about it.
