Just thought I would share the contents of a letter I wrote to SIG manufacturing. I ordered a Kougar Mk II kit tonight! Go USA!
Dear Sig,
Reflecting on how to spend my "economic stimulus check," I decided to spend the money on a product made in the USA by an American owned company.
I know you import ARFs from outside the US, and you must do that to remain competitive within the industry. I do not hold it against you. But I'm glad that you still offer kits to those of us who like to build and I hope that those kits will continue to be made here in the USA.
Anyway, I find it absolutely amazing that I can still order a Kougar Mark II kit! I consider it a classic American design.
I soloed on a Kadet Jr and progressed to the Kavalier. After that I took a detour and never progressed to the Kougar. Now, I've decided to its time to build one. It will have a JETT 50 to complete the "buy American theme."
Keep up the good work! Maybe its time for the Kougar Mark III with laser cut parts and lightened up a little!
Best Wishes,

Good for you! Support kit building AND the USA! [sm=thumbs_up.gif] Another US engine is the K&B, which has some nice choices. Since they do not advertise much, it seems like people don't think about them as much. I would like to do as you have, but my basement is getting cramped! [
