Default Next question concerning the wood.

I am not quite sure what condition the wood is in since I have yet to build a kit but as I mentioned in a previous thread I had some older kits handed to me. I kind of got a back ground on this stuff and not really sure if anyone here will be able to answer my question without seeing the wood. So here it goes, the kits have been stored in a room of some kind for several years they were then stored in an attic for around 6 months the blue prints have some ware such as some small holes in the outer edge on one end and kind of dis-colored on the most outer end as well.

One kit is a giant scale SDB-5 Dauntless with a 93" wing span made by D. P. systems designed by Herb Hall's, Second kit is a Fledgling by Sterling Models, third model is a Pacer by Owen Kampen, forth is the midwest beercat live wire and the last is the dirty birdy by hobbie enterprise.

Wood doesn't "wear out" with age. Unless it's covered with mildew or rotten, go ahead and build it.

There are of course various grades of balsa, but for you're first build, I'd just use what was in the box. I always use the supplied materials, unless it is obviously broken.

Thanks Greenboot,

I believe I jumped the gun when I posted this message, after rummaging through all of the boxes I found that only a small part of the Dauntless was there "engine compartment" and all of the rest were just pieces of other kits left over, except the Midwest Beercat in which I have the full kit the rest is pertty much a bunch of scrap balsa for use.

Randy
