Default building a tiger 60, (first kit)

how important is it to have the wing be the same distance from fuse to wingtip. My wings are about a 1/2 to 3/4 inch different. not sure this happened but it did. will this cause a problem?

1/2-3/4 inch is a pretty big difference. The more straight and square a plane is, the better it will fly. Still, I've seen some pretty crooked stuff make it into the air successfully. It may take a ton of trim and flight may not be perfect but you never know.

I could trim down the wing tip on the long side. Would this be the smart thing to do?

Maybe I misunderstood. Is it a difference in wing length from side to side or is it the measurement from the wing tip to the center point of the fuselage (i.e. crooked wing)?

If it's just the length, try to trim them as close to a match as you can. If you can't do it easily then just fly the thing. It isn't then end of the world.
