When building a kit. What are some of the products that can be used to fill in the small imperfection on the Balsa Sheeting. No matter how carefull I was, I still got a few small marks in the sheeting. My Decathlon will be covered in Fabric and Dope. I don't want to use something that will soften up or fall off once it has Dope on it.
What do you guy use???

I use a product called Paint and Patch, available at the Home Depot. Fills the dings and sands real well. Good Luck, Dave

For plastic film covering jobs, I use DAP spackle. It has been so long since I've used silk and dope, I can't remember if DAP spackle was compatible with dope and dope thinner. Anyone?

you can use Dope and Talcum power , the more talc the thicker and use a piece of balsa as a blade to apply it to the surface.

Just like freeair i used the dope with some talcum poweder mixed in.

You can use regular spackle, I like the vinyl spackle best. Sands real smooth and neither plastic or dope finishes effect it at all.

I like Dap "Fast and Final" lightweight spackle. Once cured, you can put anything over it. It is very lightweight (when you pick up the container, you'll think it's empty), easy to work with, dries fast, sands easily.
