Finally broke down and got back into the hobby. Been out for about ten years now and was in the local hobby store where there was a hangar 9 cessna 182 hanging wiht a price of $285 for everything needed to go to the field right now. SO!!! Here we go. After fiying it a few times I got the urge to build again. I searched and searched the web over and could not decide on anything so I bought the only kit in the store that was not an ARF.
Wanted some kind of scale plane and there were none I liked in arf form that I wanted to spend the money on.
Anyway I found this forum while searching for planes and see you guys like to see the building as it comes along so here ya go.

Very nice Miloh! I'm not familiar with Sig's Citabria Kit, but I can tell you that some of Sig's kits are older and use 70's style building techniques (like their 1/4 scale cub)
But check out some of their newer kits, or some of the Great Planes kits (my personal favorite). The newer engineering and instructions are fantastic! The planes practically fall together.
Good luck on your new project!
And BTW, that's a great looking assistant!

This is for sure a 70's kit. I've built a few before. always before bell cranks were used as per plans but this one will use the latest in new and improved tecnology (ie) heavy duty servos and one for each aleron, two for the elev placed in the rear fuse if balance will allow, heavy duty bell cranks.
Still have not decided on a radio yet, been a while and there is a lot of study to do on offerings that were not available when I left the hobby.
info on this will be welcome also.
She will fly with a .54 fs already ordered.
Covering and color is still to be decided as well.

I have one on the building board right now. Not much progress as flying season is in full swing. I don't care for the structural details at all. Too much wood for too little strength. Oh well, it should have a very nice scale outline and appearance, and be a superb flier.
I'm planning on using a Saito 72 that I have on hand. I'm also changing the servo set-up to a more modern configuration. Dual mini aileron servos, pull-pull rudder, split elevator with dual push rods.
Have fun.

Hey Miloh.
Here's my story. I began building my Sig Citabria, (airbatic spelled backwards), in 1996 and suddenly lost interest when my flying field took on a Krogers and a Target. Then in fall 2002, my interest came back, completed the Citabria, (airbatic spelled backwards), and now I'm back to regular flying. I've completed my 1/4 scale Cub Ursus this month and now I'm hooked on large scale. My Citabria, (airbatic spelled backwards), and 1/6 scale Cub look so tiny compared to my 1/4 scale Sig Cub I'll have to force myself to fly anything smaller than Ursus. Anyway, have fun with the Citabria, (airbatic spelled backwards). Can you guess how I got my handle?

Hey Miloh, It's me again airbatic, (citabria spelled backward). I covered my Citabria, (airbatic spelled backwards), with silk and dope both available from Sig. I covered Ursus with 100% cotton cloth and dope. The cloth from a local fabric store and the dope availabe from Sig.

this covering thing is driving me crazy! I built a 1\5 waco WMF3 a few years ago and used a iron on covering that was pre painted canvas and simply can't remember what it was. XXXpensive but worth it for the ease and quickness of application, never used dope and do not know how to affix it prior to dopeing it. I paint very well and would like to paint it myself but just not sure what to do now.

I have seen some pretty nice horn out there looking at different sites but these have always been on finished plane kits being shown off. Have not been able to locate sorce. looking for big and stout.
Opinions please.
Miloh.
