Default Solartex Covering

Looking for the best place to buy Solartex covering. I am building a GP Corsair 40 and would love to paint it when finished. Is the iron-on fabric pretty easy to deal with? Any harder than an iron-on film? Any thoughts on how many meters I would need to complete the GP Corsair? Thanks!

I use Century 21 Fabric and I love it. it stretches around compond curves great, shirnks great and best of all you CANNOT BURN IT!

May cost a little more than other fabric coverings but I found it will worth the cost.

BalsaUSA handles Solartex. If you can find Colortex or Worldtex available, it is the same stuff but slightly different colors. All IMHO go on much better than Century 21. The few times I've used Century it was much stiffer and heavier and did not adhere to itself as well as the Tex's do although it is not a bad second choice.

Hicapt17,

I agree 100% with Rodney's comments and would only add that Solartex is much easier to work with than any of the film coverings. It is probably slightly heavier though. Solartex comes in a variety of colours as well as plain so paint isn't needed.

If you wish for a painted fabric look, (for a Corsair?), Sig Coverall would be my choice.

Cheers,

Colin

C-21 and any of the Tex coverings is like the old apple and oranges thing, C-21 isn't even in the same league. I did A hell cat in the solartex using there blue and white then the fellow I built it for painted the light blue or gray over the Tex, wow, what A nice looking plane. The Tex is so nice to work with, way better then any of the plasitcs.
Balsa USA is where I get mine.
