I bought a GP cub that had a 40 2 stroke on it.I decided to replace that with a 72 Saito 4 stroke. It will not mount sideways because the fuel inlet is to close to the side of the plane. So i decided to mount inverted and discovered that the engine mount is offset to one side slightly.Shouldn't the mount be in line with the center of the plane. You can see the indented cross on the firewall is offset.Someone help me out.Am i missing something? Thanks

This is all very normal. The firewall has right-thrust built into it - this helps to counteract the torque of the engine.
Since the engine is pointing to the right, it needs to be shifted to the left for the prop to still come out the center of the cowl.
