Default Coverite Gee Bee/Which engine??

I am wondering what would be the best engine for my Coverite Gee Bee E After covering just the wing so far with Worldtex Fabric i can see where this plane is going to be heavy. The plan calls for a K&B .40 but i really don't think a .40 will pull this plane. If anyone has built and flown this kit please let me know. Im thinking 4 cycle maybe.
Thanks, Barzini

Barzini:

"COVERITE" GeeBee? Sure of the brand? Never heard of it, but that does not mean it doesn't exist.

Hey Bar, The OS .40 FX will pull it just fine. I have one in mine at 4 # and it has plenty of Zip! at 6# it should still pull well. Remember the new engines have 2x the power output of the old K&B engines. Don't be afraid of the .40 just go easy on the paint. it will be fine.

Will- Coverite produced a line of kits years ago, most of which were designed by Henry I believe. Shame they are not still around, as they had some nice classic aircraft.

They are still around, by another manufacturer, and I cannot remember the name.

I knew there was an "Airtronics" line of kits, had a beautiful biplane kit from them. Odd thing was their suggestion to bend the cabanes from coat hangers.

Bill.

PS: Just had a PM from Barzini - they are now produced by "Spirit of Yesteryear." wr.
