Hi, I'm building my first plane, a Goldberg eagle 2. I have gotten as far as building the wings and joining them. The only trouble is the wing is not balanced. The balance point is off to one side by over an inch. Is this going to affect the overall balance of the plane? Any clue what could have caused it? Both sides are glued the same amount and I made sure I didn't leave anything out of one wing, they are the same lengths, etc. I even had a couple of other eyes look at it to make sure I didn't miss anything. Any advise is appreciated!

Don't worry about it right now. The engine's muffler will make the RH side of the plane heavier too.
Once the plane is finished, put it all together and check the balance. If one side is heavier, just add a little lead to the opposite wing tip

Just check the side to side balance before you put the plastic wing tips on. It won't take much lead to balance it out becuase you are so far away from the center. I think my eagle took about 1/4 oz of weight to balance that way.
Enjoy, you have a great plane to learn with.

Thanks Chuck! I'm having a great time building the Goldberg and I'm looking forward to flying it in the spring.
