Default 1/4 Scale Cub

I am thinking about getting the Sig 1/4 scale clipped wing cub. I have an .91 os four stroke sitting around. Has anyone tried to fly this plane on a .91? I am just looking for scale performance so I dont need a bunch of extra power. Thanks for any opinions I get. Let me know if any more info is needed.

Most that I have read use 1.2 4s or 23cc gas for power. I have a Supertigre G2300 in mine. I would use a larger motor if it were me. Just my opinion though.

Ditto, a 91 4-stroke is not enough. I had an OS 160 Gemini in one and it was just right

If all you want is scale type performance, yes the .91 will do the job fine. Just do not expect much more than a scale type flight that requires a dive to get enough speed to do a loop. I've seen these fly reasonably well on just a 2 cycle .60 if you do not require acrobatics.

I use an older YS-120 that gives a bit more than just "scale" performance. It is fun to fly and very dependable. My two cents.

I am running a Magnum 120 in mine and I think the power is just about right. I wouldn't want to install a .91 on my plane. It is by no means over powered but has enough power to get out of trouble if you need it. Also the plane blanaced with no additional weight. A lighter engine may require dead weight to balance.

I'll bet the new 20cc gasser Saito would be just right........except for price, maybe. It should fit in the cowl, sound great, cheap to operate, plenty of power (same as 1.25 Saito glow). Don't have to worry about fuel-proof finish, either.
