Default What plane model is this?

Hi everybody, I have just got this plane ready for its maiden flight but I do not know what model plane it is to get the surface throws and balance right. The model is either a kit or scratch built model that my stepfather purchased from a club member in Kalispell, MT about 7+ years ago. It was close to finished but I finished it for him and covered it and installed engine and raidio gear.

It is a semetrical airfoil about 51"-52" and has a 38" fuse. The tails surfaces look like a GP super sportser but the portion of the fuse behind the pilot is not raised. The canopy is off my 4 star that crashed so don't let that thow you off.

So can anyone elighten me on this model? I have balanced it upside down, right at the back edge of the main spar. Trying to balacne it right side up is a pain because if you pick it up from the way it sits on the ground it tips back and if you point the nose down slightly it tips forward.

Any help would be appreachiated.

Thanks
John

Not an Astro Hog. The Hog has a 71" wing span, but I do agree it does look similar.

actually it looks like a 4 star that has been kitbashed to a thing of beauty. The landing gear and the basic shape of the wings look like that of a 4star, except wingtips and they could be clipped. A fairly common mod. also if you dont focus too much on the shaved turtle deck, it has the basic shape of the 4star's fuse. The tail, obviously has been completely bashed, but looks real nice. I think i would bet on it actually being a 4star

Nothing new from me, I think it resembles a Super Sportster and an Astro Hog too.
I would balance it on the main spar, give it 1/2" on the elevator. about 75% of what's available on the ailerons, and all of the rudder.
Then adjust from there.

Looks similar to a Astro Hog but the
size of a Slow Poke. Either way it looks
like fun.

Thanks for all the replies. It flew great for 3 laps and then when I was making a fly by the runway (not really fast) the horizontal stablizer snapped off and the plane took a nose dive. From now on I am going to be making all my models so that I know how they are built. I spent a lot of time covering and setting this thing up for flight to have the stabilizer snap off at 3/4 speed. Oh well, I loose some and then I loose some more, nothing new here. Thanks again for all your replies.
