I will be covering my Extra300S with Ultracote and was wondering if the covering will let off any toxic fumes or any smell that would hurt the environment? I have a seperate room upstairs where I do all my model building room has two windows. We have a little one yr old.
Would it be safe to do my covering job inside or should I wait till Spring and do the covering outside in my shed???

Always liked the smell of Monokote during application. Sort of like candy. One of the things I've noticed about it is that it doesn't have quite the scent anymore. Or maybe I'm just getting older and the nose isn't quite up to snuff....

A little different take on "where" ...
Cover where the toddler cannot get near the covering irons, heat gun, extension cords, razor blades, #11 Xacto blades, etc.

Well having nothing to do with "toxic fumes" or bogus "Global Warming"
It's very similar to the requirements for painting. You need a dust free environment that has an ample light source.

I think if I was that worried about it, then I had better find something better to do with my time.

Just to let everyone know, it is not my IDEA to write this dam post my wife is the one so concerned and freaking out about the idea of covering in a ventillated room.
What I do well you wouldn't believe me probably anyways, though I cover my door with plastic and put a towel under the door so if anything (IE dust fumes whatever) does try to escape it stays in my room.

There's only one place to MonoKote an airplane, in the middle of the living room floor. You need room to spread out and you'll spend a lot of time there so in front of the TV is the place to be.

Hey, I started thread yesterday and kept the "real" reason to myself. Not the best move 'cause I didn't get the feedback that I really wanted. I smacked myself up the backside of the head for bein' cute. [sm=confused_smile.gif]

If you ever decide to use fabric and dope, that's when you need to worry about killing brain cells.
