Default Hostetler Cessna 195

Just ordered the plans for a 25% Cessna 195 from Hostetler. Having the kit hand cut by Cornell Michaels. I also ordered the fiberglass cowl and pants from Fiberglass specialtes . This should be a fun build. However if anyone out there has started to build this plane from Hostetler plans please let me know. I'm un-sure of what I will do for the final finish...glass, shrink covering or something else. But the lines of the model are so nice that I had to get this one.

Please keep us posted here on your progress. I've owned the full sized bird and have a set of plans for the model but will have to look and see who drew them. It's a someday project for me but down the list a ways.

Glenn McIntosh and I are doing a C-195 dual build on RCSB http://www.rcscalebuilder.com/forum/...TID=12735&PN=1

We are just beginning, with a heavy concentration on our purchases and scale goodies for the Cessna. Actual construction pictures should be posted withjin a few days. Any modifications that we feel necessary will also be posted.

Come join us !!!

Here's the one that I plane to replicate.

I'll look for you, there, John.

We're working on the control yokes, right now.

Yeah, I found that right after I cruised through here yesterday. I'll be there and can help with scale questions as I owned mine 10 years and bought and sold seven others. The Jacobs engine factory was here in Payson AZ and that's how I found this beautiful retirement area.

Any help will be appreciated.

Glenn has completed the plug for the yoke. He's sending it to me, so I can cast some parts.

Tom,

Will you be offering the yokes for sale?

I plan to make a few extras, Bill. If they come out well, we can sell a few sets at a reasonable cost.

Nice yoke Tom. You do know that the PTT switch is an add on, never stock right?

Glenn added the switch because we liked it. From what we can tell, there are very few 195s in original condition. Most cockpits have been upgraded to personal tastes,

Let's see how they come out, Bill. The casting process is new to me.

I've started construction. The fin and rudder are now framed.
