You don't say which Gee Bee you're interested in. The Granville brothers designed many planes.

Model A (radial engine, biplane trainer side by side)
Model X (first sportster, inline engine)
Model B,C,D (sportsters, inline and radial engines)
Model E (sportster, radial, racer)
Model Y (senior sportster, radial engine, won more money than any other Gee Bee)
Model Z (radial engine, racer, National Air Races)
Model R1 (radial engine, racer, Thompson Trophy)
Model R2 (radial engine, racer, Bendix Trophy)
Model R1-R2 (long tail racer, combined R1,R2 parts, stretched fuselage, never raced)
Model Q.E.D. (radial engine, Distance time record)

There aren't many kits available but it depends on which plane you want to build. There are a lot of plans available if you're up to making your own kit though. Below are a couple of links for the D and E model in the size you're looking for.

I just received the plans for the model D from the AMA. They are the same plans used for the above kit. I also bought the plans for the model Y but this is a 1.20 size plane. I've been doing a lot of research on the Gee Bee's so let me know exactly what you're looking for and I might be able to lead you in the right direction.

P.S. My avitar is a picture of the model A biplane. Picture also below. Second pic is the model D. Third pic is the model E.

Howdy Bob,
Sence you have been doing the research, I would like to ask your advice. I have been kicking around the Ideal of building the Gee Bee that was in the Rocketeer movie. I do not know what model it was but I loved it's look. I am ok with any size airplane that would take a Saito 125 to a 220 four stroke. Kit or plans Ok. Have you come across in your search what I am looking for?
Thanks,
Larry Hebert

That would be the Model Z. Pictured below. It was a replica built by Bill Turner. The plane now resides at the Fantasy of Flight in Polk City Florida.

Jack Devine has a kit, but it might be a little big at 85" and 16-18 lbs.

http://www.jackdevinemodels.com/geebee_z.htm

Adrian Page had a .46 - .55 size kit but he's no longer making kits, but you can check it out here.

http://www.adrianpage.com/zpage.html

Wendell Hostetler has plans, but again it might be a bit big. Wendell will scale the plans to any size you want if you know what scale you need. If so, stick with an even scale for ease of finding fiberglass parts.

http://www.hostetlersplans.com/geebeez.html

The AMA lists only one plan for an RC Model Z with a 47" wing and a .40 size engine.

http://www.modelaircraft.org/files/p...s/g-plans.pdf\

IF you would settle for an ARF. Kyosho had a .46 size that they no longer offer, but you could watch the auction sites and here on RCU for one. One sold here on RCU 5 days ago for $260.

Well, that's about the extent of my knowlage of available kits, plans and etc. on the Gee Bee Model Z. If I can be of any further help, don't hesitate to ask.

I hope to be starting the Model Y soon and plan to do a build thread in the RC Scale forum.

Handyman,

Unfortunately, I don't know of any kit available in the size you're looking for. The plans from the AMA is the closest thing to what your wanting. See link in my previous post.

I did find a kit for and electric though from Manzano laser works: 28" wingspan
