Hi,
I like the looks and what I read about the RV-4. I'm thinking about it as my first kit. I have built several ARFs and done some repairing on them. I'm new to RC but was brought up with a workshop and always had one of my own - I'm familiar with tools and woodworking. I heard someone say that it is a builders kit and that the parts are die cut.
What is the truth out there?
Laser cut or die cut?
What is the quality of the cutting?
OK for a kit beginner or wait awhile?
Thanks for the help!

I don't think you could pick a better kit for your first build. I picked an Ultimate bipe by Great Planes for my first kit. I'm just finishing the sheeting on the top wing and all the major building will be done. I've never built before, but like you I'm handy and have most of the tools that are required, I had no real problems. Building 2 wings wasn't fun though.
Even though the kit is die cut I had no problems with it. The instructions are almost idiot proof. I read a lot of threads, and GP seems to be one of the best when it comes to kits.
Good luck, you won't be sorry. In fact I'll probably get the .40 size mustang for my next kit..
PS I guy at our field has the RV-4 and he just loves it!
