By the Plans the Wing lays flat on the Wing Platform. My Fastback starts where the Upper PartRear Winddow would lay,

The Fastback starts where the top of the Rear Window ended. The Wing lays flat there as thats where the Hold Down Bolts are on each side.Hope this helps.

I Installed The Servo's And 16oz. Fuel Tank. Finished the Forward Deck and now ready to hook up Engine Throttle.

rcflyer35, Your doing a great job on your straight tail conversion. I can't wait to see it finished. Now if you could just find a minature Franklin 6 banger to put in her, now that would be sweet...................... Keep up the good work.

Thanx sj3cub the conversion is coming along fine. I reluctantly had to Cut The Cowl for my 90ST to clear inside. But I'll tell you when TF made the Cowl they sure didn't take any mesurments for the Mold. I had to cut off 3/4in. of the back to get it to fit on the Cowl Ring. Also it was very hard to put together. I think I'll end up buying the Cessna 182 set from Fiberglass Spec. Again thanx.

The Wing is finished in the Bone's and joined. The Wing Tip Lights are installed. Now ready for Planking.

FlyerInOKC, I chose the Tunnel Effect for my Wing Tip Lites. There are so many Different Applications In The older Models Wing Tip Lites that it looks like the Plane's Owner could have what ever Application They Wanted.

It's a Groove painted black so the lite is visable from the front and side only. I copied it from a 1954 Cessna .

Well our weather here in Wash. State has turned Warm so I will suspend my Building for awhile as I will be Flying my other Aircraft at our Flying Field. My other Aircraft : 1/4 Scale J-3 Cub with a 4 Stroke 130 Saito Twin, 60 Size J-3 Cub with a 4 Stroke Magnum 90, 1/6 Scale Navy SNJ with a 4 Stroke Magnum 120 , and a 1/4 Scale P-51 with a Zenoha G-38. "So Happy Flying" to every body and thanks for following my Build. I'll pick up where I left off after Flying Season ends. Here in Wash. State we don't have much Warm Flying weather so when we do "YOU FLY".

The Weather here this year is the best I've seen since we came up here in 1970. May, June and July have been in the High 70s and 80s. We have been flying in the Morning and Late Afternoon. I'ts Great. At night I've been Sanding on the Cessna 182. Wow ti's got along way to go before Glassing. When you look at the surface it looks smooth but when I rub my fingers over where I've sanded I can feel the valley's and Hollows. I'm on my second tube of Glazing Puddy, Lots of work. Well time for bed so I can get up in the morning and "FLY".

The wing is finished, and the bottom half of the fuse is done, so I'm in a great spot to do the conversion. It's something I've wanted to do for years, but never got around to it. Any chance you would share the drawings you made of the rudder and fuse bulkheads? I'm an extremely slow builder, and those would help me a lot.

Sorry I didn't use any drawings I just did every thing by eyesite. I know thats not the convenional way of doing things but thats the way I work. The Fin and Rudder were cur at the Angle the Fin looked like the Picture of the 1956 Cessna. Example place the fin over the Plans in the Upright position and draw a Horizonale accross the Fin and Rudder. Thats where you Cut. Add a some strenthing insid the Fin and Rudder. I closed the base of the Fin and added two 1/4in. dowels to be inserted into a 1/8in. Ply Plate I'm making to be glued into the Fuselage foe added strength. I myself am Flying now and not doing much on the Model. When I do somthing on it I post it.

Seriously, thanks for the tips. It'll probably be some time before I get back to it, but I'll keep watching and check in occsaionally.
Last year, I took some good digital photos from all angles. What I've done in the past is set up a laptop projector, project the side view on top of the plans, and adjust the size until it looks about right. Then, tape some blank paper on the wall and trace the outline of the rudder. Fill in with structure that looks like airplane parts, and you're done.

You too. Sounds like your not going to have any trouble. Ask all the questions you want on the build and I'll answer them if I can. I'm not trying to build Scale , just somthing that looks good and Close to Scale.

Got to do alittle more work on my Cessna. Put my Switches & Glow Plug Remote in in the Baggage Compartment. Still have to buy hinges for the door. I also did alittle Interior Work. You also can see that the Wing Sits In It's Plan Position even tho I made the Fusalage A Fast Back. Pictures to follow.
