Pilot Figure
Just finished and maidened SIG 4* .60 - GREAT! Having a bit of frustration with Thunder Tiger .61 PRO, but that's what lazy evenings are for - to tinker and get it running smooth.
Anyone with suggestions for pilot figure? Not too sure I want a cartoon character and most of what I've seen readily available is too "stock".
Who has a "good" pilot or knows of a good source?
Thanks.

Certainly worth a look...not thrilled by what I've found so far, so you never know; I wonder if I can find a good Sponge Bob Square Pants? Always thought that ol Sponge Bob would look good on the tail section of a yellow Carden Extra when I'm ready to step up...

Bear:
Isn't it strange how some people can use the absolutely dumbest looking pilots in their planes, and they do an unbelievable flying job on their very first time up?
And yet others of us can bypass all the toy shops, go straight to an expensive "Pilot by Whoozis," with the correct scarf and goggles, supposedly pretrained, and they can't even taxi a tail dragger straight?
Haw.
Bill.

I like the ET thing....if I can't find a Sponge Bob, then ET it is...after he passes the written test and flys through the check out - heck, if he can knife edge and hover, then who cares!

Ariel
I found a shampoo bottle (or maybe it was kid's bubble bath) with the head of Ariel, the mermaid as the cap. She flew my Tequila Sunrise ARF for about 200 flights without flaw! I retired the plane, should charge it up & fly it soon, for old time's sake.
I also had a bubble bath Daffy Duck head, in a Lanier TR260. Daffy was a pretty good pilot, too. I'd hate to carve my own!
Good luck,
Dave Olson

I never miss a chance to go through the toy section in any store to check out possible pilots. The best one I ever found was a figure of that crazy lunatic Steve Irwin, you know---- the Crocodile hunter from the discovery channel. He flew my Somthin Extra for a long time. Perfect size in scale and best of all he was on clearance sale for 99 cents!

Flyin on the left side - not able to taxi straight; ghee, this is more complicated than I thought. Looks like it's time to pull out all the stops and go straight to the top - WALMART HERE I COME!

I have a Tom (as in "Tom & Jerry") in a funfly. He was from a key ring I bought at a Warner Bros store.
Thought he was a good pilot until he landed inverted (got too low on an inverted pass).
Bill, nothing wrong with flying on the left. And anyway, Steve Irwin is an Ausie. Perhaps I should try him for low inverted passes.
