Default Hi,

Hi everyone,

I'm semi new here. I had registered a couple of years ago, but did not post much. Just gathered a ton of useful information off of these threads. A little about myself. I got into this hobby 2 years ago. Started with a LT-40 kit, andRCKens LT-40 build thread made it much easier to understand and build. Didnotknow beans about thishobby, but wanted tofly. I've learned so much from these threads during my introductioninto this great hobby. Since then, I've built the following kits, 2 Sig SSE's,SigHog Bipe, just maidend a month ago, and I have another LT40 on the table. I have 2 Astro hogs on the shelf waiting their turn,Gave my wish list to my wife for more kits. So hi all.

Wecome aboard!!!! Looks like the "bug" has bitten you pretty hard. Looks like you've built some nice planes. This is the best hobby I've ever had & hope you will find the same !! There's a bunch of nice people on RCU. If you get in a bind on something, just come to RCU for the answer.

I can see you dont like Sig kits much , lol. Welcome to the madness. You have me beat on Sig kits.2, LT40s , 4 Star .40 ,4 Star .60 and one SSE. A 4 Star .40 still in the box.
There are a lot of good people here on RCU , and you can find out anything you ever wanted to know about RC here. Welcome again and happy landings.

Thanks for the welcome, and yes I've been bitten, chewed and whatever else you can add. Hey Insamemoondoggie, I've thought about getting the 4*, how did you like your build on it? Any suggestions if I get the kit?

Default RE: Hi,

I built the 4*60 last summer. The build is fun and very straight forward like all the SIG kits. The plane requires no mods but most people do make minor changes. Sheeting the turtle deck is one of the little things to do just to keep from breaking the sticks when assembling at the field or storing in the hanger. Some people like to sheet the forward part of the wing too. I think I made the rudder a bit bigger? The plane is really nice as is though. The Kaviler is another great build and a much better stunt plane then the 4*s. My club had a racing class for them so I have built several. Hard to go wrong with any of the SIG kits.

Always liked the Sig kits. I'll probably put the 4* on my Xmas wish list this year.

dhal22, I'll try to post pics. Not much of a computer expert. Speaking of building more, I have the LT40almost completed. Next in line is the Astro Hog. From what I hear about it, I better start learning how to like sanding.

Default RE: Hi,

I just finished a US.60 and with all the shaping , used one of these . http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...LXAA64&P=0 , Wished I bought one 10 builds ago . Just takes a little at a time ,but some much faster than sanding .
I would recommend taking out the last bay of ribs on the 4 Star and go with a Sullivan tailwheel . It also does,nt knife egde well and would add to the rudder . I,m going to build one this winter with counter balances added. Fly mine with a Saito .56 and it,s perfect for this plane.
Been eyeing the Hog Bipe, I have a SkyBolt , but one can not have enough bipes.Oh yeah , I need to build a LT 40 too. Whew I better get busy.
