Thanks for the updated list. I've added my information under my signature, but it's not showing up.
OK, I tried again, but it didn't show up. I know I pressed OK at the bottom of the page after I added it, but it's still not showing up. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Hey guys,
Perhaps you have chosen to hide signatures in the forums?
Look below my post, currently I have visible to me
Hide Signatures
But I have chosen to see all members signatures, if you select that shaded text at the bottom of a post, it will bring you to your forum settings. IN the "Speed" section, remove the check for "Hide Signatures in posts"
Just a suggestion.

Gooseman240,
I do not have the "Hide All Signatures" box checked in the speed section. Also the information I added in the Signature Box this morning is indeed there, but it still isn't showing up on my posts....
What else can I try?

Go there, Select "My Profile" from the blue menu bar, you may have to sign in again to get here.
Look for the following section:
Signature
(Max. 125 chars. 2 lines max)
You should already have in the box:
Fly safe and have fun!!
David
Just put what you want to say, above or below what you have typed. Then press "Apply" then "OK" buttons in that order at the bottom of the web page.
Did that help?

Gooseman240,
Thanks for helping me figure it out. However, I really feel like an idiot now. Both previous times I read the first part of the statement that said "125 words Max", but the part that said "2 Lines maximum" never even registered in my feeble brain. I was trying to add it on a third line under what I already had.....

No Problem David,
That is what we techies do best, point out the obvious sometimes [sm=bananahead.gif]
So, do they pay here for technical service to roam the forums?

*sigh*
I understand you get free planes!! for demo's!!
That should suffice, I need a 2.6ghz controller, so I can do a review for this, that will more than suffice as payment [sm=wink_smile.gif]

Yea, we get "Free" planes.
If I worked tending bar at night, I'd be able to buy three times as many planes for the amount of hours it takes to do a review.
My LHS told me, "You spend a lot more money in here now that you get "Free" planes!"

Sad sad news
Just crashed my ultra sport into a tree, such a beginners mistake the aileron servo was reversed, I got a new radio and was eager to fly so I didnt check it.
for me it became a routine - DRnnnnn the engine and take off....
Oh well this is how we learn the wing is totaled but the fuse is almost intact just the rudder where the horn is connected.
I have another kit maybe i'll build the wing of that kit to the fuse I have and maybe do it tail dragger with retracts hmmm
Where do I get good retracts?

Alex, If you have another kit, then you have all you need to built you the peices for another wing without using that second kits parts. Just pull 1 of each rib out & make 2 of each of them out of bulk balsa planks. As for the notched leading & trailing edge, there not too hard to make. Or just buy those pre-shaped leading edges from a hobby shop & the trailing edge should be easy considering how much cutting, carving, & sanding these things take. Plywood braces & stuff are also easy to make & shape as needed. I would just try to keep the wing parts for your other kit available for that kit when that time comes. Sorry to hear of the loss, but all these do come with an experation date encoded within. We just don't know when that is. Good luck, Bill

Hey Alex,
Sorry to hear about your loss. After all the work that goes into making kit airworthy it sure is a shame to hear about one go like this. I bet you won't do that again.[:@]
I'll tell you about a pilot trick I know. Before each flight we check free and correct movement of the controls. Grab the control yoke with your thumbs pointing up. When you move the control yoke to the right, your thumbs point to the up aileron and vise versa.
The same can be done with an RC transmitter. Check free and correct movement before each flight (esp. with multi model memory transmitters). When you move your Tx stick to the right it should point to the up aileron and vise versa. Make this part of your procedure and it will become automatic, and only takes a few seconds.

Thanks for the kind words guys it seems I was too deep in my routine to notice in which direction the ailerons are moving...
I was a big advocate of five=like the number of fingers check points before flight, well its funny I forgot what I was teaching...
As for rebuilding it on monday I'll find out that to order the parts for a new wing will be more expensive than buying a whole new kit...
Good idea Bill I would rebuild the wing from drawing its just its flying season now and I need it to fly asap, 4*60 doesnt thrill me as much any more, but its a good idea to keep a kit as a template if these kits are scarce.

Well I went ahead and ordered a .60 kit from Tower (Omni models actually b/c of free shipping). Won't be building it for a long time, but since the .40 is discontinued, wanted to go ahead and grab one to have as a future project.
Will probably go all out with this one: OS .75, retracts, flap mod, etc.

Wanted to update my pictures . Flew the US , for the first flight of the spring , earlier this year. It was soiid metalic blue , like in first pic. I could not keep it in sight , it keep disapearing on meand the canopy blew off .I'm lucky to have got it down. Lesson leared ! I just finished the US just before the end of flying season last year. Got about 20 flights and 16 of them were dead sticks , Newly rebuilt ST .90 was giving me fits, but I.m happy to say , those issue have been resolved and the performance is awesome, just about to much.
Last weekend I repaired the leading edge and put some grafics on it ,so it would be easier to see. My wife walked into the shop , looked at my plaane and started giggling called it cute .lol I tried to tell her , it wasn;t cute ,but cool . Anyway here's a few updated picks.

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***
I have seen pictures of a Twin engine Ultra sport. I would like to find that link again. I have an US1000 in bare bones that I purchased about a month ago, and would like to convert it to a twin engine configuration. Does anyone remember where this thread was/is? I have done multiple searches for it, with no luck. Any Ideas, tips, comments Etc would be appreciated.
I have been considering making it a tail dragger with 90 degree rotating retracts that fold back into the engine nacelles Ala Corsair Style! How cool would that be?
Comments?
Thanks, Craig.

Craig,
I remember RCKen posted a picture of a 60 size Ultra Sport twin. I remember asking him if it was his, but he said no. If I'm not mistaken, it was in the thread that was started when he and Minnflyer were trying to get the kit produced again by Great Planes. If it's not there, it may also be in MinnFlyers Ultra Sport 60 build thread.
A US1000 with retracts would be pretty cool. However, I don't understand why you would need a rotating retracts. Most, if not all of the twins I've seen have the fuel tanks in the nacells behind the engines leaving the nose area empty. Just a thought.
Good luck with your conversion. Keep us posted with your progress.

Count me in as #52 (unless I missed something). I've had the wings mostly done for a while now, but put the kit away while I built a Shoestring, and recovered my U-Can-Do. It's back on the building board as of last night, and hope to have her flying this season. I have a Magnum .91 for it, and am going with retracts.
Has anybody done a flap mod? Am I wasting my time? I fly off grass, and was hoping the retracts would last a little longer with a slower approach.
