Royal P-38 Kit

I have a very old Royal P-38 Lightning. The kit is in a different box, and the plans are yellowed and torn, but the kit is complete. It even has fiberglass cowls, because the former owner didn't care for all the solid balsa block cutting, shaping, and forming. I would like the Royal kit Cessna 337 Sky Master, Cessna 310, FW-190, A6M2 Zero, or F4U Corsair. I also want the Top Flite P-51 Mustang, or AT-6 Texan. If anyone reading this post wants an even trade up for my Royal P-38 for above said kits, please let me know. thank you. That is for any ONE of these kits...NOT all kits, I'm sorry if my wording sounded strange.

Thank You for your reply, I have recently purchased the plans from e bay for the Royal Cessna 337, I'm just hoping I can find front and rear cowls re-popped from fiberglass. I suppose I can cut them from block balsa, but finding the block balsa that usually comes in those kits may be a bear. Thanks

Hullo, is it Frank?
I could be talked into trading one of my Corsair kits, since I have a duplicate. The others you mention, I have some of them but no duplicates. I am not sure anyone could talk me out of any of my one-ofs, especially the ones you mention. They are highly sought after, are they not?
I do have a weak spot for the the P38. A friend of my dad flew one in the big one. He was a super nice guy.

Fiberglass Specialties does not list cowls for the Skymaster. I cannot recall that they ever did. I have not opened my kit box for ages, but I am pretty sure that the kit calls for building the cowls out of lots of balsa parts. They have parts for the Hostetler Skymaster, but it is *much* larger than the Marutaka kit. Hmm, they have cowls for the Aviomodelli Skymaster. Still larger though, with an 87" wingspan. I would have to see them in hand - the Pica or the Top Flite 182 cowls may be closer to correct. Have you tried sending them an email?
I cannot say when or even if I will get around to building my Skymaster. Seems that when I do it would be a good idea to make a mold for cowls, eh?

Hi, have an old Royal P-38 kit & did notice the plans call for 2deg side thrust. Was wondering if this was to compensate for IC engines turning the same way? Have purchased electric motors & will be setting up for counter-rotation. Also have fbgl cowls from Bay seller U.S.Wing to help with weight. Any thoughts wether the side thrust will still be necessary? Any insight & advice appreciated, Many Thanx - MeB
