Default Tips on building a Dirty Birdi.

I ordered my Dirty Birdi today and need to know any tips or tricks you used when building it.
I've built many kits so I'm not worried about it being a builders model. Just wondering if it needs a little added here, a smidge taken off here, etc.etc...
Thanks for the good info, and I'll disregard any of the normal off topic bs

Which one did you buy? One has the epoxy glass fuse and the other is a built up balsa. Both are excellent flying aircraft. You will not be disappointed with either!

Guessing you bought the built up version? I used a Webra Speed .61 with a pipe and Kraft Elect retracts. Build it light, use a fiberglass mount instead of the wood rails if they still do it with them and you will have a winner. Great pattern bird! You will love it.

You will like it. I built both. I still have the glass one. It has been sitting waiting for paint for about 12 years. The wood one flew great. Too many projects and not a good field to fly the birdy at. Working on trying to improve the field. Need to find dryer felts from a mill for it.
