Sukhoi Su-26
I don't know if this question is in the right area, so if not I apologize in advance!
I would like to know how someone would go about building a engine baffle for a PAU 30% Sukhoi Su-26m. I think the plane would look great with one, but does not come with one. I have found only one picture of one and it was from a thread in England. (attached)
Any ideas or thought are welcome.

That looks like it was just light ply or balsa stager glued then cut round and glued to the cowl. In my case I used one of the plastic fake engines and braced it with light ply and made a ring mount at the top and glued it in. If you want you can do something like in the photo and cut out 1/8 slots in the over lap. In his case he just has the engine section opened, that's all that is required for cooling. I used gorilla glue to install mine so it would expand aND FILL IN ANY blems in the glass cowl.

Nice detail on the cowl. I remember when I put a Great Planes Stearman together, the cowl ring had to be installed, the recommended way was with a mix of epoxy, and micro balloons. held really well.

That plane is a scratch built so I made my own glass cowl. The fake engine is from Dubro. I just painted it and added the wires then cut it out for cooling. The engine was inclosed and so was the straight pipe I have on it. None of it is hard to do. I built the Sukhoi 29 using MAN plans but didn't bother with the baffles, I was running the Brison 2.4 gas engine. If you can get air flow to the head of the engine and have enough exit room for the airflow out there isn't any over heating problems. I love the Sukhois!!!

The engine detail on the Stearman was simple, just plastic. I painted the jugs silver, black for the background, and cut some small red wire and made the plug wires. Can't really see much in this picture, but it turned out pretty nice. The plane flew great.

The old Sig Yak 18 had the louvers. I don't recall if they where for show or remained in place for flight. I would have to look through the instructions. I do remember looking at it and thinking what a pain to make.
