Default Make a topic for a Protege Float Plane Build this winter

I am going to build a Carl Goldberg Protege Kit this Fall/Winter and I am going to be making it a float plane only. I am going to be changing the rudder, elevators and adding flaps. I am also going to have a total enclosed cowl, I would like to try to make a fiberglass nose cone to save weight. I am going to be building the floats from Blue foam and fiberglassing them. I will then paint them to match the colour of the airplane. I am going to make some custom braces out of aluminum for the flaots and I am going to have a water rudder on each float. I am going to power the plane with a 100-120 4 stroke or a small 20cc gas engine. It all depends on what I think will look good in the cowling I am making.

This plane will not have wheels as I am not planning on using it on the ground only on the water.

I know it is a great flying airplane, and looks great on floats.

I am not going to put a build log topic if their is no interest as I know the Protege kit is hard to find, if not impossible.

Keep it light enough and IMO a 91 4 stroke will be plenty,, good luck
