Question About Struts

I am building a Prop jet, it will weigh about 8 lbs. I am not dealing with retracts but I was wondering if any one has ever used struts instead of wire gear. I am not doing it for the the look, however I wanted to know if they will soften up landings or not because the model does not weigh that much.

Thank you

Ryan

Question About Struts

Robostruts or similar will soften the landing but I don't think 8 pounds on normal wire gear will be a problem. The Robostruts will look a lot cooler though :)

Question About Struts

I have made shock absorbing landing gear that work great on 8-9 lbs airplanes using R/C car shocks. Landings are bounce free. THere is a Photo in here somewhere. Do a search for it and see what I made.
