Default Question About Struts

I am building a Prop jet, it will weigh about 8 lbs. I am not dealing with retracts but I was wondering if any one has ever used struts instead of wire gear. I am not doing it for the the look, however I wanted to know if they will soften up landings or not because the model does not weigh that much.

Thank you

Ryan

Robostruts or similar will soften the landing but I don't think 8 pounds on normal wire gear will be a problem. The Robostruts will look a lot cooler though

Default Question About Struts

I have made shock absorbing landing gear that work great on 8-9 lbs airplanes using R/C car shocks. Landings are bounce free. THere is a Photo in here somewhere. Do a search for it and see what I made.
