hello. this is from an old forum. what did you make your templates from when cutting out the wing core on your beautiful 35% lanier giles ?? thanks. did you feel it worth the expense to go to fiber gear and tubes ? tx pat

You can make your wing templates from 1/8 thick birch plywood and polish the edges, but thin aluminum sheet metal ones work best.

My kits had foam wings and tail feathers with them, this was the second one I built.

Anytime you can reduce the weight by going to lighter composite gear and a wing tube you are much better off, IMO.
