lets see your custom servo boxes

I'm building a Sig Citabria designed for bell crank aileron control. I am going with servos out on the wing, one for each aileron.
I've been standing here staring at it for quite a while and just can't figure it out...YET I see the need to have a box with a removable cover so all that shows is the control arm but I don't want to put a whole Forrest in the wing
so I thought I'd ask for a pictorial from the experts. show me your custom servo boxes please.

Sorry, don't have photos. But think about it this way; all you need is a light ply hatch cover. Mount two plywood rails to it, and mount the servo to the hatch.

Good luck,

Make life simple for yourself attach the servo to a plywood plate and attach the plate to the wing between to rib bays. I would stiffin the rib area up with a little plywood and use two hardwood rails to fasten the cover with servo attached to the wing. I hope this gives you the idea

Good Luck

r1morris:

Are you meaning to have the whole top of the servo on the out side with the screws showing on the outside of the plate?? This will do if nothing better shows up I was just hoping to hide all but the servo arm.

Miloh.

P.S. Thanks for the help.

Thanks Steve:

I got wound up and went for it with my own design, wish I had waited cause Minnflyer's design is much nicer to look at I'm sure but this will work fine.

Thanks to everyone for your replies.

Miloh,

Was digging out pics of my Mr. Mulligan while you were posting yours, but thought Id put them on anyway for future reference. Servos lay flat on hatch cover and are screwed to posts. Hatch covers screw to spruce rails along side of ribs. BTW, in the last pic, the servo arm slot is crooked to be perpendicular to the hinge line of the aileron. Its not an illusion, lol.

No problem Miloh. My description WAS very brief. I also usually try to add graphics, but was pressed for time.
