Thanks, I appreciate the info. Looks like I will be looking for a 4 stroke bigger than the Saito 72 that I was considering.

I definitely wouldn't try the Saito 72!!!Just took a OS 61 2S out of mine could hardly keep it in the air.Flew OK on a Magnum 91 4S but not real good the Saito 100 sounds like a good bet!

You are certainly welcome to come by. It will be on Memorial Day again and we would love to have you here. We had about 45 pilots last year, and had a great day. Just about any size or plane type was represented. Here are a few of pics.

moodier: I will take your recommendation and move up in engine size. The one thing I don't want is an underpowered bipe.

My Saito 100 gives my Hog unlimited vertical with an APC or MA 14x8 prop.

great plane, I also built for my self a Phaeton, will post a review soon; LouW probably we can work together in that comparison review, I been flying the Hog for a couple month now.

I fly my hog on an os 91 surpass 2, it has plenty of power to drag it around the sky. i had a great pains 40 size ultimate, and after flying it and the hog bipe for a season, i stripped the ultimate and gave it away, I just didn't enjoy it at all, the hog is a joy o fly, and alot of fun to build, but then its a sig kit, now i am building a pete and poke by great pains, i wish I had never started it!!!! Lame kit.....

I feel your pain with the Pete N Poke as it was a miserable build. But take heart in that it's a great flying plane and certainly unique once done.

Then again, nothing flies like a Hog :D

I had a Hog Bipe with an OS91 w/pump and it was great ! I flew it at about 1/2 throttle most of the time. Only had a couple dead sticks and it floated in nicely. Just kept the nose down until flair.

i bought a video cam to hang under the wing on the poke, hope it flies slow and steady like it says.

Just finished ,my first kit build. I must say that is alot of fun building your own. Much more fun than an ARF.
Want to build a warbird now, perhaps an Fw190? Anyway....

OS91FS surpass 1 for power
14 x 6 MA K series prop 10300 rpm on 10% nitro and 8% caster 10% synthetic, Altitude 880ft, temp 16 celcius
Custom balsa cowl .
Vertical performance is good.
Great combo...Luv this plane!
Highly recommended first build first bipe!

well.....[8D]
its about a month after the test flight of my hog bipe.
in the end i went for the os 91fsIIP.
was'nt cheap at all- but a real nice engine.

a few told me it wont be strong enough, that i should go for 1.20.
when i first took off- at about 1/4 throttle... i knew y o u were wright.
has a lot of power, climbs real nice- and the sound.. wow

the hog is a real sweet plane.
took a while to get used to it- after a year and a half with the 'se'.
with a bit of aileron diff (programed)- it rolls true.
does all what i like- with (bipe) grace.
for now it is the primary craft, hope to bring the 'se' to life in a couple of months (no radio for it..).

the idea for the scheme came for another hog bipe- on furber hill:-)
mine is a little different..
