Dumb Question?

If I wanted to put say 5 degrees of down thrust to a firewall, how would I do this? Would the firewall be slanted to the bottom or to the top (if that makes sense)? Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Crash Master

Dumb Question?

My trainer has 6 degrees downthrust. The engine angles downward.

Slanted to bottom .
Down thrust is litteraly moving the thrustline to provide more downward thrust. Generally to offest drag above centreline as with a high wing trainer that tends to climb when more thrust (throttle) is used.

You could change the firewall or
- add a couple washers to the top mounting bolts of your mount
- or add a couple washers to the rear mounting bolts of your engine (assuming it's mounted upright, front bolts if mounted inverted)
