ORIGINAL: anaconda I have access to one of these NIB, wondering what they would have retailed for when they were available? How useful ar they? Thanks, Anaconda They are extremely usefull for building constant cord wings. Anything like a 4* or LT-40 wing is perfect for this thing, I think you can do tapered wings on it--but I have no idea how and I've lost my directions. They are beefy and heavy duty. I have mine mounted on a 2x10 board about 8ft long. It takes a little time to set it up--but once you get all the ribs strapped down and start gluing--your done with the major framing in 20-30 minutes. It's not totally idiot-proof. You DO need to pay attention to what your doing when you set it up and strap the ribs down. But, with a little care--you'll get a perfectly straight wing out of it everytime. There are also fuselage attachments for building the fuse on it too. I've only used it for that once--and that was more trouble than it was worth. For wing panels--ya can't beat it. |
RE: Adjust-to-Jig
I have had one for 3-4 years I used it once to make a fuse.
They take up a lot of room in the workshop, if you are planning on doing a lot of building I think that they would be great, if you are only going to make one plane every 2 years .... mayby. Your call. |
