Hey MildBill, I dont have mine yet, I hope to order them this weekend. You can get plenty done without them. I'm thinking about holding up on sheeting the front of the fuse till I get them, but I can always re-plank if I cut too much out.

Thats what I was hoping to hear. It looks like you got alot done for not having your retracts yet. I was looking for them & all I have seen for this plane is the set of Robart WB-25, for about $400. I will need to save a bit for those. Which were you going to get?

Ordered the retracts last saturday, got them from wing mfg...why not..Anyhoo, got the horiz stab installed, as well as the rudder pushrod and finished sheeting the fuse. Got some cleaning up though, and some filling to do.
As a state employee, I did, in fact utiltilize presidents day to it's fullest extent, and enjoyed every minute.

Got some work done on the nacelles, I ran out of glue, so I was able to get some other things done. I mounted some hardwood dowels in the elevators for my control horns. I also rough sanded all control surfaces and filled rough spots. My retracts are on backorder, but that's ok as I'll take my time getting ready for fiberglassing.

Got the other nacelle planked. whew, glad thats over. All of the major componants...Fuse, wing, control surfaces, tail feathers, nacelles, are now built. I can now start on the prepwork to begin glassing. You know, filling and sanding, filling and sanding. Then I do some filling and sanding......

Hey Fili, bet you will be glad when glassing is done. All there is to do after that step, is some "filing & sanding". & in a month or so, you'll be ready to paint. But at the speed you're doing this at, In a month, the plane might be done. I too get those "nice" holiday's from work. I work for a local school system. So the days off, when wife has to work, really get to her, but a few moments in the shop, & I'm over it already, till she gets home. lol. I'm doing a 1/5 waco now. covering the thing currently. As soon as thats done, I'll be starting my B-25. Watching you doing yours here has really got me wishing the waco could be put on hold, but its 2 years behind as it is. Looking GREAT so far.

I really dont mind the glassing part, I know it's one step closer to getting her finished and in the air. I was able to installl the wing dowels and drill, tap and install the wing bolts............so, I just had to put her together! :D

it would be advisable to use fuel pumps, if you use two cycle engines, and a throtle servo for each engine.

Two OS .70 four strokes is what I'm planning on using. I built the Royal (Martuka) B25 about five years ago. I followed the plans and used only one servo for the throttles. Won't do that again....I learned from that. I've since built the Royal P38, the Top flite DC3, had a Twinstar and also built a Uravitch OV10 Bronco. All with two strokes, and all with separate servos for throttle. So far (knock on wood) I've had very good luck, even without pumps. The only plane I crashed, was the P38, but it was my fault. I ws having too much fun and ran her dry. Bad news loosing an engine on the downwind final.

Finally back at her. My retracts came in on wednesday, so I started the installation in the nacelles. I also installed the clevisis for the flap pushrods. I have the nacelles sanded and just about ready to permanantly glue to the wing. However, I still need to mount the throttle servos in each side. I do beleive I have made my choice on engines. I have two OS .91 two strokes on my OV10 Bronco. they have been extremely reliable, so, I'm going to use those.....

Well....Drilled all the holes to mount the retracts, Epoxied the nacelles to the wing, finished shaping the fins and rudders. I still want to be sure of a good bond between the nacelles and wing, so after the first gluing has completely cured, I'll get around the edges inside with some fiberglass and resin to reinforce the joining. I also have all the control surfaces (except the rudder and fin) glassed and ready for the first coat of primer. I'm still not sure how or where I'm to install the throttle servo. I'm going to use mini or micro servos, so I know I'll be able to get in the nacell through the retract openings.... I was also able to fill and sand the wing crutch to the contour of the wing, mount my elevator and rudder servo rails. Not a bad weekend....:D

Day by day, Just ordered a bunch of stuff I need to continue.......Started trimming the cowels. I used a old .91 as a template for the one engine mount I could get locally. Need to do a bit more shaping and sanding. Coming alone...

Thanks Mr. Somegeek. I Love you avitar, I miss Calvin and Hobbs. I have a few cartoons of him building model airplanes hanging up over my workbench....

The Latches for the wnder wing section came in today, So I got those mounted. I'll take them out so I can glass that section. Got engine number one cowling trimed around the cylinder. The second mount should be here tomorow. The bottom of the wing is totally glassed, but not sanded yet. After further inspection, I needed to do more filling and sanding on both the top of the wing, and the fins.. I was also able to start cutting and mounting the cockpit canopy, and tail gunner canopy.....Slow but sure..

Well, I just couldnt wait any longer. I had to get started on my B-25 this weekend. I didnt like the way they had the control horns fitted in the flaps & ailerons, or the flap cables coming out the bottom wing sheeting. So I made the cables run along the upper side of the wing & I epoxied the horns into the flaps with the horns end exiting the leading edge of the flap, so as to help hide them. I also boxed in, & then cut out the flaps & ailerons before sheeting the wing. I have never had good results cutting them out after sheeting.

Alright MildBill! There are plenty things about this kit that can be modified. Please keep us posted on your progress and keep posting pics! :D

I'm in the process of glueing the engine fairings on the top of the wing. I've cut them down so much, I'm just about to open a can of bond-o to finish the shaping. I'll get some photo's up later tonight.
