For starters, look here.
http://www.rcuniverse.com/showthread...&referrerid=60

I asked Robert at Morris about this and all he could say was " yeah the instructions suck dont they? Want to re-write them for us?"

I did get the e-mail address to the guy who wrote them for this kit and he really didnt have any advice either.
I'll figure it out. Its just frustrating.

I also had to replace all the 1/16 sheeting cause it was unusable..

Hi Wayne,

Is that the 1/16 sheeting for the wing? Was the sheeting warped?

Also, do you have any other pictures of the kit under construction to post?

Thanks.

Yes, Thats the sheeting for the wings.

I am halfway through the wings at this point. WOW! There has to be an easier way.......Read, read and then re-read the instructions for the wings.

I keep telling myself that it will all be worth it once its in the air.

Su-Do-Khoi stress

I believe that there should be an easier way. I have stopped building my kit as it is too fustrating to continue right now. I believe that building should be fun and a remedy for stress, not the cause of it. :(

In the mean time, I am cheating a bit by assembling my H9 CAP232 ARF with Saito 1.80. :D Want to go flying with it this weekend to remove some of my Su-Do-Khoi stress.

I am the type of person that has to just plug away till its done. If I put it away half finished, knowing that there are problems, it will just gnaw at me till I get back to it.

I know once its flying it will be worth the effort......

A little more progress today.

Throttle control

Hi Wayne,

Are you using pushrods for the throttle or a cable?

P.S. The kit is looking good. Keep it up!! :)

For the throttle I am using a Nyrod. Red outer tube yellow inner.
I did have to figure out a way to reverse the direction of the throttle linkage at the engine. ( typical with 4 cycles )

Heres what I did.

Do any of the servos get stuck in the fuse or are they all in the wing?

Chris,

The throttle, rudder and elevator servos are in the fuse.

Is the kit so bad you wouldn't recommend it?

Chris,

Hmm. Tough question.
I would say definately not a first or second kit. If all someone is used to is Sig or GP kits (where they spoon-feed you in the instructions) this isnt a good kit at all. You really need to be able to evaluate the whole plane as its going together making sure you dont screw yourself later. You need to really think about stuff like, If I do ....... now am I going to be able to do ............ later.
You have to be able to do things on your own and not rely on the instructions.

The plans are hard to read. Lines are where they shouldnt be and some lines that should be there aren't. The wood pretty much sucked. Example, hold two 5/16 square pieces together and they arent the same size. Close, but not exact.
Sheeting was warped. Some of the die cutting on the lite-ply wasnt even halfway through the sheet.

It will all be worth it once its in the air. They hover extremely well. SUPER stable. Reminds me of some of the planes out there for G2.

Should be done in a week or so.

Yea...I've built a Topcap...wasn't too bad though...

I've seen a guy fly a 60 So Do and it was extremely stable...his 40 size So Do is not even close to being as stable. Maybe I can grab it from him...He had a 91 FX and pipe on it. The 60 size that is...

Have you completed the Su-Do-Khoi as yet? Looking for some more pictures of the finished product.

Thanks
