I have built 4 Ultra Sport 1000's 2 w/ flaperons, and 1 w/ retracts 3 with the Supertigre 2500 and one with a saito 150. Two Super Sportsters, one 40 and a sixty I still have today with a Classic OS 60SF long stroke breathing through a Super Tigre Carb and out through a MAC Tuned muffled pipe. Off the ground in 60 feet and immediately vertical out of site! Lands like a kitten. My first plane was a Trainer 40. The Trainer 60, Ultrasport 1000 and SS Bibe are my top choices.

Found photo's of my Super Sportster 40. Looked fast sitting still............unfortunately..................I hadnt flown in a long time and took it out to a friends freshly mowed field, it was pretty windy but I flew it anyway..........zigged when I shoulda zagged and you could basicly fit the whole thing back in the box it came in. I still have the rudder tacked up on the wall by my work bench and I found the plans for it in the attic last week. How hard could it be, just tack the wood together, sand away anything that doesnt resemble a Super Sportster and I should be back in the air in no time. I thought Tower was bringing back the GP SS .60 kit in June or July? not sure.

Anyway, my pics would be..................

The original TF P-47 Thunderbolt and P-39 Aircobra.......tired of seeing them go for big $$$$ on Ebay. Loved to watch them fly in the 80's and always wanted my own.......I know, I know the Gold editions are way better, but still.................

All the Midwest Sticks............Bipe Stick just sold for $130 on Ebay!!!!!! I have the Bipe Stick plans purchased on ebay. Flew a buddies bibe stick in '84 with the old O.S. 40 four stroke. It was under powered but very realistic to fly. Went on to fly another friends bipe stick in 87' but we used a K&B .61 stuck up front. It was my first understanding of what "knife edge" flight truely was. Love to have that kit again!!!

The whole Bridi fleet as we knew it way back when (Trainer 20,40,60 Kaos etc ). I learned with a Bridi Trainer 40, the old one with the cool tail!! Built it the same summer I took drivers ed at the age of 15. I want to build the old style T-20.......still looking for the plans. Pulled my T-40 out of the attic, hasnt flown in 25 years. Ripped off all the Red and white Monokote (can you say brittle) Removed all the stellar repairs I did in high school, what on earth I was thinking when I did them I'll never know. 20 years as an aircraft mechanic must have taught me a thing or to about proper structural repair. Happy to say she is stronger than ever. Lots of fresh balsa, a gusset or two here and there. I hope to fly her again real soon. Bought another vintage O.S. 40 FSR just like the one she first flew on(yup, ebay). Doing it for nostalgias sake I suppose. Fortunately that old tan box Futaba 6ch is long gone so she'll fly on a fresh gold label JR radio. Gone are the days of mapping out your radio installation and where did I put my reversed servo!!!!

The Marks models Scorpion IV I saw one at an R/C model airshow once, circa 1982. It looked so cool in the air. I found it listed in my old magazines but cant seem to find anthing about it now. Its like it never existed. Marks Models Wanderer was kinda cool, the 100' would be nice too.

Oh! and those cool Bud Nosen aircraft.......Got the Bud Nosen 40 size Citabria, 20 years in the making, gotta fly it someday.

Re-Bitten by the RC bug that bit me oh so many years ago.

As singer RcHammer once said........." Can't ARF this..............Da Da Da...... Da Da.... Da Da..............Can't ARF this............"

Here's another vote for the Big-Stik .40 and .60 (the .40 was the best flying plane I've ever owned and flew it till I wore it out.)
And the PT-40 kit from the early nineties.
Also wouldn't mind seeing a re-design of the dynaflite P-82 they did a while back (mid-nineties) I wanted to build one, but the kit was discontinued before my flying abilities reaches that level.

I'm with you, Doc, and Solstice on the Trainer series with the symmetrical airfoil. I would also like to have them introduce a 1.20 size of this kit. In fact, this would also be (1.20 size) a great ARF.

I've had a Super Sportster 90/120 kit in my rafters for a bunch of years and am now building it. I've got great hopes for it when it is finished. I'm thinking of using Solartex for covering.

You guys are brining back so many fond memories. I do miss the seemingly simpler times, when a 4 channel radio was plenty and a 60 OS was BIG engine. Hopefully we can see some of these designs again. With luck they will choose lighter grades of balsa and laser cut the kits. I can dream.....

ORIGINAL: mcmike

simple...ALL OF THEM! along with TopFlite, AAMCO, Sterling, Midwest, Goldberg, etc. Yeah, I like to build and would love to see a LOT more kits
Exactly!

Super SPortsters.... I would have a hard time laying off on the 20 size. It is just too cute.

Ultra sport 40 60 and 1000 (yeah I know about the 60 being revised I have 3 on order)
Giant Aeromaster (Im not happy with the arc)
Easy sport 60 (no one likes this plane, they are normally people who havent flown them)
Fun One
super sportsters, all of them

Giant Aeromaster, I looked and looked at that kit for years, just never had enough money in the hobby bank for one. {Still don't} When I decided to bite the bullet and get one it was gone.
I'm with Solstice all the way on them selecting better wood and laser cutting. These kits need to be brought back but with all the new updates. No reason to be crash cutting them anymore when A laser can do it better and cheaper.
I just finished building A Mid West kit that was from the 80s and the wood was still great. A bit dry and heavy but straight as can be.

All of their pattern ships from back in the day!

1/5 scale Cessna 170B, ARF. or T-28D Trojan.
1/5 Cessna 177B Cardinal or a 1/4 scale Piper Tripacer.
I used to vote for Kits, But they are so Good today, It is hard to beat the quality and No Way to beat the Price.
For what I spent building the .40 GP RV-4, I could have bought the larger ARF.

I do not believe that GP have had a CAP 232 60 size, but that is want I want to see in performance series laser cut KIT.
I would buy it in a snap.

All the Midwest Sticks............
My wish also .................... Including the Das Bipe Stik and the old Super Sweet Stik .60!
The sticks were great flyers.

The whole Bridi fleet
Again ... A Great Idea!

One thing though ...... They would be great ARFs too. ;)
