RE: Kits GP should reissue
All the Super Sportsters and they should go back to the 80's design of their trainer when the wing was asymetrical.
|
RE: Kits GP should reissue
How about the old glass and foam Bridi scale designs, like the Aero Commander, & T-28.
|
RE: Kits GP should reissue
Super Sportster bipe ! I would love to have one.
|
RE: Kits GP should reissue
I think I have one of the last Big Stick 60s kits produced. The model was put together with scalloped ailerons and elevator. The cowl was copied from the old Top Flight Eindecker kit. Red Mono coat of course!
GP! Bring it back for all who have flown and like to build from kits. ARF... ARF.. Is that rover at the door? |
RE: Kits GP should reissue
All the prop-jets.

RE: Kits GP should reissue
I would have to go along with the original Aeromaster and
the Super Sportster bipe. A reissue of the Ultra Sport 1000 would be nice as well. Now that GP has set a precedent anything is possible. I would imagine that the powers at GP are watching this reissue carefully. If the reissued kits sell well we might see additional kits reissued in the future. If they dont...well that would pretty much bring an end to kits from GP. So if you would like to see some kits reisssued in the future be sure to buy one (or two or...) of the kits they just brought back. Mike Hammer |
RE: Kits GP should reissue
The entire 'Stick' series
The Super Sportster series All what they have in ARF |
RE: Kits GP should reissue
I have not built any of there out of production kit's other then the TF AT-6 and they keep bringing it back sometimes,,,,But i would like to build a LearJet sometime. That thing looks sweet!
I also wish they would bring back the Brightstar arf(hobbyco) Was my first big glow powered plane and i would sure like to have another. Pat |
RE: Kits GP should reissue
There are some really good choices in this list. As someone has stated, if this reissue of the Ultrasports and the Super Sportsters goes well... maybe, just maybe, more will come our way. If you want this to happen, buy an UltraSport or Super Sportster kit.
I will add to my original list: Ultra Sport 1000 Kit - GPMA0425 Tomahawk Giant Scale Big Stick .20, .40, .60 Sportster .20 Cherokee .40 Sportster 40 Bipe kit Giant Aeromaster kit Super Sportster 90/120 kit And heck yes, the PROP JETS! I loved building the f-14. Still flying great as ever. One thing though. If they do reissue I suggest a few things: 1. Choose wood for the kits that is exceptional. These planes are outstanding when built light, but honestly these kits were always FAR to heavy because of the wood choices. I for one would pay a bit more to have carefully selected wood so that the kits are light. 2. LASER cut parts would be phenominal. This would allow some of these parts to be cut from lighter wood as well. 3. Fiberglass rather than plastic parts. I would be happy to have these as Optional extras. This would keep down kit cost and provide an additional source of revenue for Great Planes. One final thought is that maybe GP could allow kit cutters to handle these designs and just get a royalty payment. Just a thought on a way to help get these designs available once again. Just my thoughts, what do others think? Solstice |
RE: Kits GP should reissue
The Patriot .40. This kit was easy to build and was a scream to fly. The current .60 requires 7 servos and looks like they couldn't decide how to make the simulated intakes.
The F-14 - A little more complex but still a screamer with a hot .61 and tuned pipe. Cherokee .40 - I'm trying to rebuild mine for the third time. A new kit would be nice. The Trainer 20, 40, 60 series - These were my favorite trainers. They were sturdier then the current PT designs and not as floaty and took aerobatics well since they had good semitry. I learned to flat spin on a trainer 40. |
RE: Kits GP should reissue
How could I forget! The Trainer series. I built the 60 and LOVED it to death. Good catch.
